A love letter to the folk genre, “In The Heart Of Scarlet Wood” doesn’t do anything new but it has excellent harmonics, acoustics and it’s filled with emotion. What it does, it does very well. Lisy Stefanoni cements her vocals as top notch and true to herself. In an age of music largely void of anything interesting or passionate. “In The Heart Of Scarlet Wood” represents a return to simpler times that require some engagement from the listener. This album grows with time, it is indeed…Incredibly complex, with multiple layers opening new ways of picking up sound with each play through. Let The Candle Burn has an incredible breakdown and songs such as The Port Of Lisbon, Northern Lights, and This Is The Night really highlight the enchanting voice of Lisy Stefanoni. When I allowed myself to suspend my belief from this world, I fell in love with the world of Shadygrove. This is an album you should have on your radar when it releases April 6th.
